Anticlimactic but welcome news from Rio de Janeiro.
- We took it. All the battalions took the positions asssigned to them. We had little difficulty because civil police air units, flying low and giving fire support, helped a lot. We won! We liberated the Complexo do Alemão. Now it is just a matter of tracking serving warrants, and arresting people.
No injuries were reported, which I found impressive.
They set off at 7:30 and were done in a couple of hours.
All that build-up and so little bloodshed.
A cynical prediction: with the WalMart closed, the Bolivian Marching Powder industry will move to small towns in the Vale de Parnaiba. A bit like having to drive to Long Island to buy your furniture at the mega-Ikea.
